UCP Chemicals AG starts production of resin coated proppants with German technology
Nizhny Tagil, May 1st, 2008 - OAO Uralchimplast, an affiliate of the Austrian UCP Chemicals AG, which is headquartered in Vienna, started its production of resin coated proppants (RCP) in April 2008. This poduct is based on ceramics and phenolic resins and is used by the oil- and gas exploration industry to keep open the cracks formed under hydraulic pressure to increase the permeability of the oil and gas containing formations.
Jörg Talbiersky, member of the board of UCP Chemicals AG, says: "With this investment Uralchimplast uses our close proximity to Russian oil- and gas fields and amends our product portfolio for this important and promising market segment."
Thomas Bogdanowicz, head of the supervisory board of UCP Chemicals AG, says: "This is another strategic step of UCP Chemicals AG to participate at the booming market of the Russian oil- and gas service industry."
Uralchimplast bought this highly innovative plant from the German engineering company Gustav Eirich GmbH & Co KG / Hardheim. This new plant has a capacity of 30, 000 tons/p.a.
