The abrasives and refractory industries represent the second largest sales market for the phenolic resins produced by UCP Chemicals. The company is the largest producer in this field, with a market share of about 50%*.
In the abrasives segment, phenolic resins are primarily used for metal finishing i.e. grinding wheels, cut-off wheels and as binding agents for sandpaper.
Phenolic resins are also used in the production of clutch facings, drum brake blocks, disk brake pads and automatic transmission components.
