Other Synthetic Products
The other synthetic resins manufactured by UCP Chemicals include urea resins, furan resins and ion exchange resins.
Urea resins are used as binding agents for the production of plywood, fiberboards and mineral wool. Urea, formaldehyde and catalyzers are used in manufacturing the resins. Production capacity totals about 76,000 tons annually.
Furan resins are used in foundry plants as well as in the production of drilling rods, fuel rods and rods made of sand resin mixtures. These rods are applied in aluminum and thin-walled casting molds made out of cast iron. The entire production capacity amounts to about 8,100 tons per year.
Ion exchange resins are used in products designed for wastewater purification. Total production capacity is at a level of roughly 3,000 tons per year.
