Location
UCP's registered offices and corporate headquarters are located in Vienna.
The main production facilities are in the city of Nizhniy Tagil in the Swerdlovsk region, in the heart of the Urals, and encompass an area of about 194 hectares.
The production facility Nizhniy Tagil is in the heart of the Ural region, the raw material powerhouse and industrial hot spot of Russia, making it the ideal location for the UCP Chemicals Group. Both raw material supplies and industrial customers are in proximity to the UCP Chemicals production site.
The proximity to deposits of natural gas - the primary raw material used in manufacturing methanol, the main project of the company at present and one of the basic source materials for UCP Chemicals products - represents a decisive competitive advantage. This is due to the fact that natural gas can be most favorably procured at its very source due to lower transport costs.
Moreover, the proximity to industrial customers enables UCP Chemicals to limit transport distances, and thus keep transport costs low and maintain product quality e.g. in the case of products which are sensitive to temperature. In such cases transport costs as well as product quality depend considerably on the actual transport distance, due to the fact that these types of products must be specially prepared for transport, and conveyed in special thermostatic containers.
The production location close to Ekaterinburg, an international transport hub at the crossroads of East and West with access to the Transsiberian Railway, allows the company to export to Western as well as Eastern markets, and thus provides the optimal pre-requisites for exploiting the most important sales markets: Europe, Russia and Asia (in particular China).
